Abstract:

The present investigation of screening of eleven advanced breeding lines of sorghum along with three replications against shoot fly was carried out in randomized block design (RBD) at Agronomy field, college of agriculture Kolhapur in Rabi 2016-17. The advanced breeding breeding lines were screened on the basis of average number of eggs laid and percent dead hearts per plant at 14, 21 and 28 days after emergence. Resistant checks viz., IS 2312, IS 2215 and IS 18551 recorded significantly minimum number of eggs per plant and also exhibited minimum average percentage of dead hearts.
