This study was done to know the seroprevalence of Human Immunodeficiency virus in a General population in a tertiary care hospital, in Malla Reddy Medical College for Women, Hyderabad Telangana from January 2017 to December 2017. First an ELISA test was conducted and after it is positive it is confirmed using two other tests. The study included 5303 patients, who were screened for HIV. Of these 5303 patients screened, 84 were found to be positive for HIV accounting for an incidence of 1.584%. All positive patients were followed up. First HIV counselling & testing was done. Positive patients were sent to ART (Anti-Retro viral Therapy) Centre for free drugs.
