Bioinformatics is the “research, development, or application of computational tools and approaches for expanding the use of biological, medical, behavioral or health data, including those to acquire, store, organize, archive, analyze, or visualize such data.Simply it deals with application of computer science methods in analyzing the biological experimental data.
Computational Dynamic Analysis of Biological Processes is one of the most challenging research areas in modern life science. Topics such as Disease Dynamics, Drug Resistance, Immune System Analysis, Emerging Mutations, Microbiome Analysis and Biological Networks Evolution involve intriguing and still unsolved problems. On the other hand, the availability of Next Generation Sequencing and other High-throughput techniques provide a strong support for scientists working in this field.
The main goal of this two days National Conference will provide a forum open to researchers from different disciplines to present problems concerning computational techniques in bioinformatics, systems biology and medical informatics, to discuss cutting edge methodologies, accelerate life science discoveries and discuss the advancements and the future perspectives in bioinformatics and biostatistics. Applied biologists are also invited to participate in order to propose novel challenges aimed to have high impact for molecular biology and translational medicine.
The Research papers in the special edition of “International journal of Current Microbiology & Applied Microbiology” are full texts of the paper presented in the “National Conference on Contemporary Advances in Biotech-Bioinformatics Frontline” organized by the Department of Botany & Biotechnology, Bon Secours College for women, Thanjavur, Tamilnadu. India. 32 research papers were presented in the event by the researchers Out of that 20 full length papers are published in the IJCMAS Journal. These papers mainly focused on the areas such as Immunology, Medical Microbiology, Industrial Microbiology, Environmental Biotechnology, Agricultural Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and Physiology.
We hope that the reader and research workers will find the useful source of information. We would thank reviewers, Chief - Editor, Dr. M. Prakash, and other staff of the Editorial Section of International Journal of Current Microbiology and Applied Sciences (IJCMAS), who had faith in us and cooperated at all stages of compilation. Special thanks go to the authors who contributed their scientific work for Publication in the special edition in IJCMAS.
