Abstract:

Present work was carried out to assess the physico-chemical parameters of water samples of Kanigiri reservoir of River Penna during November 2016 to May 2017 for a period of seven months. Various water quality parameters including Air temperature, Water temperature, pH, Turbidity, total alkalinity, total hardness, Free CO2, DO, BOD, Chlorides, TDS and total ammonia were estimated whereas, correlation coefficients between different parameters of both the stations upstream and downstream were also analysed. Water quality of the reservoir is in accordance with the drinking water standards with respect to turbidity, pH, TDS, total alkalinity, total hardness and total ammonia except for BOD.
