Field experiment was conducted for two consecutive seasons under rain fed condition to evaluate the efficacy of Imidacloprid 60 FS a new seed dressing chemical at different doses against blackgram early season sucking pests at Agricultural Research Station, Bidar, Karnataka. Among the different doses evaluated, the higher doses of Imidacloprid 60 FS, i.e., at 10 ml and 15 ml/ kg of seeds were proved superior in protecting the crop from the early season sucking pests viz., thrips, aphids and leafhoppers up to 40-45 days after sowing and recorded significantly highest grain yield. Hence, considering the cost of plant protection, Imidacloprid 60 FS @ 10 ml / kg of seeds can be used for managing the blackgram early season sucking pests up to 40-45 days after sowing.
