Abstract:

Rice is the most important staple food crop for more than half of the world’s population. The possibility of expanding the area under rice in the near future is limited. Therefore, the extra rice production required has to come from a productivity gain and with low cost technologies. The present study was conducted to know the profile characteristic of Rice drum seeder technology farmers in the selected villages and mandals of Khammam district of Telangana state. Ex-post facto research design was followed for the study. Khammam district of Telangana state was selected purposively with a sample of 120 respondents. The study results indicated that the majority of respondents were middle aged, illiterate, medium farm size, farming experience, annual income, extension contact, mass media exposure, Sources of information utilization, innovativeness, risk orientation, training in rice drum seeder technology.
